RapidBuyr E-commerce Website

RapidBuyr is a daily deal and e-commerce company focused on the B2B market for small to medium-sized businesses. Along with daily deals, RapidBuyr offered over 30,000 office product SKUs.

Dan designed RapidBuyr’s e-commerce website, from the ground up, for desktop and mobile. The e-commerce engine was from ShopVisible. RapidBuyr.com needed to be responsive and simple to use, while also supporting dozens of cobrands, where RapidBuyr’s brand became a white label behind the partners’ brand.

There were many aspects of the e-commerce website that needed to be designed effectively. There needed to be promotion pages, subscriber management controls, sectioned product detail pages, a main catalog page of “deal tiles”, daily HTML subscriber emails, and much more.

And there was also producing the daily onslaught of deal images that needed to be crafted and posted to the site.

PixWithMe Photo-Sharing App

PixWithMe is a free group photo-sharing application that works on Facebook, or as a standalone Web application for desktop browsers and Android and iPhone mobile, as well as iPads. Photo-sharing is facilitated by providing mobile photographers with a “PixBoard”—a single virtual location for multiple users to upload their smartphone photos. PixWith me is popular for sports events, weddings, reunions, and most any kind of event for two or more people. When there is an event with multiple photographers, one person creates a PixBoard, and invites friends.Within seconds everyone can share their event photos in one accessible virtual place.

Dan is a partner and Creative Director atPixWithMe. He has created the company’s look-and-feel, and all branding and collateral. Applying his specialized knowledge of social networking environments, Dan has worked closely with development to produce the the PixWithMe app’s GUI and user experience. In addition, PixWithMe offers branded photo voting contests that requite art direction for customers to fully integrate their brands and promotions into the PixWithMe environment.

 

MooresCloud

MooresCloud is an “ecosystem company” for the Internet of Things. Formed in 2012 by Mark Pesce, MooresCloud creates beautiful, intelligent, connected devices for the internet of things. Products include consumer hardware devices, software applications to run on the hardware, and a cloud solution for backing up user software and settings. The primary consumer technologies are networked LED-based lighting products, called Holiday and Light, which are emotional, intelligent, and interactive.

MooresCloud is developing the app and service ecosystem that connects these new lights—and lights from other vendors—to intelligence. The Holiday by MooresCloud in May 2013 brings the world’s first programmable, interactive and intelligent holiday lighting.

Dan is a partner and Creative Director at MooresCloud, splitting his time between branding and promotion, and intensive design and development of the responsive MooresCloud operating system GUI for desktop, mobile, tablet and specialized hardware devices. The OS initially is for controlling Holiday and Light devices, but designed more broadly to provide controls for controlling any Thing on the Internet of Things.

RapidBuyr

Based in Maynard, Massachusetts, RapidBuyr was a daily deal and e-commerce company focused on the B2B market for small to medium-sized businesses. Along with several daily deals sent to its subscribers, RapidBuyr offered competitive prices on over 30,000 office products. RapidBuyr’s brand promise was to help small and mid-sized businesses grow and save time and money by offering the best deals on business equipment, software, services, cloud applications such as data storage and virtual meeting tools, and office supplies.

Dan was the Creative Director at RapidBuyr. He began by designing the brand personality for the company while also creating the user interface and UX for the website, for both mobile and Web. The brand needed to be unique but also take a back seat to cobranded partners when needed. He headed the creative department that designed and produced daily deals and special promotions to the subscriber base. Dan liaised with marketing and product development, splitting his time between designing promotions and designing and refining the user experience of RapidBuyr online. RapidBuyr was acquired by nCrowd in 2013 and rebranded as CrowdSavings.
