High Start Group is a consulting company that helps their clients accelerate the success of their innovations by leveraging its unique customer-centric and data-driven approach. HSG works closely with them to rapidly conceive, validate, and launch products that customers will love.

Dan was HSG’s creative director and worked with a wide variety of their clients, including AT&T, Vivox, and Santander. In addition, Dan created HSG’s brand and designed the company website and collateral materials. Bob is HSG’s Senior Web Developer, handling the backend of the consultancy’s many clients.

AT&T UC Services gives customers the ability to unify their communications delivered over the AT&T network. It is accessible from almost any device, enabling employees to collaborate and communicate in real-time regardless of location.

Users can work virtually anytime, anywhere, on virtually any device. The service transitions from one communication method to another and improves reachability by displaying rich presence indicators of an individual’s status and allowing a single number to call multiple devices

Dan and Bob consult with AT&T UC Services to design, build and deploy the beta testing program.

Info360 Conference & Expo

Info360 Conference and Expo 2010 is an event produced by AIIM, dedicated to helping people find new ways to capture, store, analyze, access and deliver enterprise information. The event features educational tracks, conference sessions, real-world case studies, an expo floor showcasing best-in-class information management technology solution providers, and networking opportunities.

Dan and Bob were contracted to redesign the existing website to have a new look that is in line with Web 2.0, based in WordPress. The project involved redesigning the conference logo, website skin and deploying design and content upgrades in Drupal and revising CSS.

Perpetuating Technologies

Perpetuating Technologies manages IT strategy and direction for many of the top companies in the New England and New York areas. Perpetuating provides IT consulting, QMS development, software development and outsourcing services.

Dan and Bob were contracted by Perpetuating to update and deploy the design of their website’s homepage to a set of specific criteria that needed to be met within a very short time frame.

Hedberg Data Systems (Steelcase)

Based in East Windsor, Connecticut, Hedberg Data Systems provides a range of software products and services for professionals in the furniture dealership business. Hedberg’s software streamlines the logistics and sale of furniture. One of their flagship clients, Steelcase, contracted Hedberg for a custom web-mobile Enterprise Order Inquiry application.

Dan was the consulting UI designer for building the Hedberg/Steelcase mobile interface.

Betterscape

Betterscape is a Facebook gaming app that rewards and promotes people who make the world a better place in their day-to-day lives. Players tell short, real-life stories about how their friends improve the world around them. By rewarding others with karma points in specific ‘good deed’ categories, points let players earn badges like Earth-Saver, Do-Gooder, Mentor, and many others. BetterScape donates 90% of the revenue from the sale of virtual karma refills to a different set of high-impact 501c(3) non-profits every month.

This game was based on the observation that people spend hundreds of hours playing games like Farmville, with no obvious benefit other than to kill time. A game that actually rewards positive behavior could be an element of change.

Dan was the team’s creative director, responsible for branding, messaging and the design of the user interface of the Facebook game.
